Sorry that I'm a little late with this, but I haven't had as much free time lately. I'm glad to see that more people are participating. Remember though, keep the art relevant to the theme and please try and include your username somewhere on it so that those voting have a clearer idea of whose art is whose and I have an easier time putting them together. There is a new poll up and I will hopefully have another post for December's contest soon.
All pictures for November can be seen here. Vote!

November Art Contest Start!
Alright, this month I'm continuing with holiday themes and announcing this month's art contest as Thanksgiving themed!
Same rules as before, due by the end of the month. Anything you submit has to be 100% your own, but you can use any programs or tools to create it. So draw some turkeys, Native Americans, Pilgrims, a table full of delicious Thanksgiving foodz, or whatever you would like just as long as it is somehow Thanksgiving-related. Also, please PG art. No massacres, blood baths, sexually explicit art. Also, it would be nice if you put your username somewhere on your work.

Halloween Wrap-up
Well, I was a bit disappointed that only two people submitted something for this art contest, but since I haven't been on much lately I couldn't exactly advertise it as much as I would've liked. Regardless, I have put a poll up on the right here so that we can vote for our favorite submission. This poll will be up for a week and the winner will get a poorly drawn picture from me showing how awesome they are and a mention in The Garden room description for the month. I will put up a post about a new art contest for this month likely within the week.
The pictures can be seen here if you haven't seen them already.

October Art Contest Theme
Alright, so the last art contest was a bit of a let down. However, it seems like some of you were oblivious of its existence, so this is my second attempt to get something going.
Since it's October, I figured it would be a neat idea to have a Halloween themed art contest. I think it would be fun to have pumpkin carving submissions as an option as well as any hand drawn/painted/sculpted art. While I've said that I don't care how well you draw, I think some of you are still too shy to submit your work. Perhaps with pumpkin carving as an option, you will be more open and have more fun with it. All you really need is a simple stencil to plan out your carving so please comment with something for us!
If you do decide to do a carving then I would recommend submitting both a picture during the day and a picture at night (in all of its candle-glowing goodness). If I knew for sure that a reasonable number of you would participate, I would have both an art contest and a pumpkin carving contest. Feel free to submit a pumpkin carving as well as a drawing/painting/sculpture if you'd like!
The due date for this will be the day after Halloween, November 1st.
P.S. Can you guys also give me some more feedback about my last post in regards to what days/times (timezone is important here) would be good for getting together to game and what games you might like to play? I only have a few answers and suggestions.

The Gardeners
Well the Art Contest I set up for you peoples was a bust because none of you submitted anything, but I don't want this Blog to simply fall into obscurity and die.
As some of you have already seen, I've drawn a few of you by your usernames for fun, which can be seen here. I will probably continue to draw you peoples every now and then, adding you to the album. If any of you ever want to submit any art that is at least semi-Kong or The Garden related then simply post a link in the comments, I would love to see it as I am sure the rest of your fellow Gardeners would!
Also, I've been contemplating some sort of Xbox Live or Steam game night since several of us seem to have either or both, and it would be neat to all get together and play! For those that don't have either we could always setup game nights for multiplayer Kong games. I wanted to ask if any of you would be interested in this and what days might be best to try and play with one another? Also game suggestions would be good too if any of you have anything in mind.

Art Contest Start!
Alright, so we didn't get many suggestions like I had hoped, but maybe that will just get better over time as we get this thing rolling. I wanted to throw up a poll, but to be honest I would like to avoid a theme that involves drawing the peoples and beasties of The Garden specifically. I probably should have mentioned that before, but I didn't really think about it at the time. If peoples are left out of drawings then feelings might be hurt and that's no fun for anyone. So, I'm going to just go with "The Garden as we see it" since that doesn't necessarily mean anyone has to be drawn.
Any software can be used to make your work of art (it can even be drawn with pencil on a piece of notebook paper and scanned if that's your preferred medium), but it has to be 100% your own work. This means no photos, no stolen pictures or drawings from the internet or elsewhere, no clipart, and ultimately nothing that you haven't made with your own two hands (or one hand if you're not ambidextrous).
You have until the 28th of August (roughly 2 weeks) to submit a link of your work of art in a comment below this post. It can be linked from photobucket, deviantart, or whatever works for you. Please make sure that your name is written legibly somewhere on the work of art so that we know it's yours. Everyone is encouraged to participate even if they don't think they can draw. This is purely for fun, so there's no pressure on you to create an incredibly wonderful masterpiece that leaves us all breathless.
After everyone has submitted their art (and hopefully Lancer and I figure out how to display them all on the blog in a reasonable way), we will put a poll on the blog and everyone will vote for their favorite piece (please try to avoid voting for your own work). Then I'll try to figure out what exactly I'm going to give the winner as a prize and we'll start with a new theme on the 1st of September. Have fun!

Art Contest Theme
Alright peoples and beasties of The Garden, I want to get an art contest up and running for all of you regulars. I've been wanting to start one for a while now, but I've kept putting it off.
First we need to come up with a theme for this month's contest. It should be relatively specific since it's difficult to choose one drawing over another if the topic is too broad. If everything works out well then I hope to have one every month from now on, so think up some good ideas and post one of them (saving some for the coming months). Once we have a nice number of suggestions then we'll throw some of them up in a poll and have all of you vote on which ones you like the best. Then I'll make a new blog post announcing the theme and explaining some minor rules for the art contest. We'll hopefully have a winner by the end of the month.
Also, if any of you have prize suggestions to offer the winner (other than a firm pat on the back and congratulations) then please let me know. It needs to be something that can be sent electronically as I don't know how comfortable people would be giving me their address, and preferably cheap or free (I'm poor). My own suggestion was going to be a picture that I draw showing how awesome the winner is...but being that this is an art contest and the winner can probably draw better than me, I'm not sure it's really much of a prize.
